Asil Arabian Horses
Preserving the Original Horse of the Desert
It began in the Arabian Desert and the tradition continues today.
A Passion from the Past,
fighting to survive Modern Times.
The Original Jewels of the Desert: "Asil".

The original Arabian Horse of the Desert represents a very small percentage of today's registered Arabian horses -
Less than 5%.
Hard to believe, but true. This is why there are efforts in place to preserve, and conserve, what from the Bedouin origins is known as the "Asil" horse -
authentic, original, pure.
Worldwide, the Asil Arabian does not exist in very large numbers - something we breeders and supporters
are dedicated to changing.
This is of utmost importance if we wish to preserve the breed from outcrosses and dilutions. Al Khamsa, Inc. has gone to extensive efforts to research and establish a globally recognized database to support these distinctions and this culturally rich foundation heritage.
Here at SpiritWind Desert Arabians, LLC
half a lifetime has passed, blessed by the company of
these unique horses.
The specific blending of bloodlines preserved here represent some very unique history that is not found anywhere else in the World, and remains extremely small in numbers - some groups less than 50 total.
These horses are best described as Working Athletes.
Arabian Horses who are Confident, Calm, and very Intelligent. Athletes who can be Versatile,
Durable, Consistent, and a reliable Partner.
Here on SpiritWind Ranch, the horses live where they learn about order and self-care, in social groups with room to roam and shelter if they choose it.
You won't find clippers, grease, or ginger for tail carriage here, and chains are not necessary on the Stallions.
